What it does
Every protocol
FTP, FTPS (explicit/implicit TLS), SFTP, WebDAV (Nextcloud, ownCloud, SharePoint, IIS), plain HTTP directories, Amazon S3 and compatibles (Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, MinIO and others), Azure Blob Storage.
Hosting panel integration
Imports sites from cPanel/WHM, Plesk, DirectAdmin, CloudPanel, CyberPanel, aaPanel, Virtualmin, ISPConfig and Hestia. The panel administrator password never enters ciciFTP; each site gets its own, revocable access.
Secure by default
Passwords are stored encrypted with Windows DPAPI or a master password. The SSH host key is recorded on first connection and a changed key is refused. FTPS certificates are verified by default.
Resilient transfers
A parallel queue, resume where it stopped (FTP and SFTP), automatic retries, MODE Z compression. An unfinished queue survives shutdown and crashes, and the saved queue holds no passwords.
Sync and automation
Folder sync and mirroring, scheduled tasks, deploying to many sites and a read-only deployment check. The scripting language is allow-listed: it runs no shell commands.
Tools
A built-in editor, search inside files, diff, checksum verification, disk usage analysis, a duplicate finder, bulk rename, OpenPGP encryption.
What beta means here
ciciFTP's release channels go Alpha → Beta → Final. The current release is 2.21.0-beta: in daily use, but we are collecting feedback and some details of the interface may change. Every release has detailed notes in the changelog.
